Representing the industry

Advocacy

ZAPF represents public and private sector pension funds and pensioners in engagements with Government, the regulator and partners, working for an environment where retirement savings can grow.

Our current priorities

The issues ZAPF is raising with Government and the regulator on behalf of funds and their members.

  • Protecting the value of savings

Members' savings have been eroded by past currency changes. ZAPF supports fair approaches to value preservation and compensation.

  • Sound, proportionate regulation

New pensions legislation and regulations should protect members without placing unnecessary costs on funds.

  • Timely remittance of contributions

Contributions deducted from salaries must reach funds on time. ZAPF works with IPEC and employers to close the gap.

  • Room to invest for the long term

Funds need a range of sound investment options, including property and infrastructure, to grow members' savings.
