About ZAPF
What is ZAPF?
The Zimbabwe Association of Pension Funds is a voluntary, non-profit association established in 1976. It coordinates the pension industry, represents pension funds to Government and the regulator, and promotes awareness of the importance of pensions.
Is ZAPF the regulator?
No. The Insurance and Pensions Commission (IPEC) regulates pension funds. ZAPF represents the industry and works with IPEC and Government on its behalf.
Where is ZAPF based?
The secretariat is at ZAPF House, 3 Penn Place Close, Strathaven, Harare, Zimbabwe.
Membership
Who can become a member?
Pension and provident funds, fund administrators, asset managers, insurers, consultants and other organisations that provide retirement benefits in Zimbabwe.
How do I apply?
Complete the online application on the Join ZAPF page. The secretariat will confirm your membership category and subscription.
Training
What is the C.O.P?
The Certificate of Proficiency is the industry's qualification for pension fund trustees. It covers trustee duties, the law, investments and fund administration. ZAPF runs registration and preparation classes.
How do I register for training?
Use the Register for Training page, or email training@zapf.co.zw.
Your pension
I have a problem with my benefit. Can ZAPF help?
ZAPF does not manage individual benefits. Contact your employer's HR department and your fund administrator first. If the problem is not resolved, you can complain to IPEC. Our guide to your rights as a member explains each step.
What happens to my pension if I change jobs?
You can usually preserve your benefit, transfer it to your new employer's fund, or in some cases take it as cash. Keeping it invested protects your retirement.
